Things to do in the Chill Space

Before we do anything, let’s take a big deep breath.

It’s really important that whatever you are feeling today, you are not judging yourself. Your emotions are valid, it is okay to be feeling what you want to feel.

    Writing Tips

How can we feel instant clarity/healed when we write? PUT THIS IN FAQ

Aim to get to how you truly feel, rather than reciting something for how it happened. Getting to the truth of what you really want to say is when you obtain that moment of "ah-ha" or feel clarity. In order for us to get any sort of change in emotion or mental state of being, we have to get to the truth because only then we can change how we think or feel. If you need some guidance, you an start with "I truly feel..." and go from there. Sometimes the truth looks like feeling completely stuck and confused. That's perfect. Truth can even sound like "I am completely stuck and have no idea what to write." Be unapologetically raw, and open.

What's a good writing length to get the healing kicked in?

When you hit the truth, you feel instant clarity and relief. Sometimes you may feel like writing a paragraph. Other times you may feel like you have so much you want to let go. We suggest putting a 10-minute time limit so have the room to write extensively but also put a stop so your body can rest. When writing is unguided, its important to put a limit so you can reflect on everything you worked on and wrote.

    What's better: writing or typing?

Writing our thoughts down on paper has shown time and time again of its medicinal potency in helping our brains with gaining clarity, building memory, and retaining information better. Because of the slower processes in writing each letter to form each word, it even helps our juices to flow, and disconnect us form technology for a moment. Even though we encourage writing on paper, we also believe that writing anything is better than not writing anything at all, so we have a textbox just case its what you prefer, or simply don't have paper on you. The objective when we write is to allow our thoughts flow into real time, and just be with ourselves in that moment however it is we need to show up.

Keep taking big deep breaths. Nice and slow.

How much control do you feel you have right now?

Neutral/Numb is a large scale that can mean a lot of things. For example: maybe the body is activating a defense mechanism, and that means shutting down the body to not feel anything. It can also be a sign of overwhelm or fatigue.

What can we see from this chart? Self-control is directly connected with self-awareness. The more aware that we are over how and why our mind and body function, the more we can take control over it.

Self-education = relieving ourselves from the prison of our internal system. The more we bring light, the free-er we become.
